Kos Is Hot

I am at an internet cafe on the Greek island of Kos. It is only a few miles off the coast of Turkey. I woke up and showered and shaved and then ate some fruit for breakfast. I packed up and left for the ferry. The usual deal of checking in and getting my passport stamped. The ferry left a few minutes late but that wasnig deal. I know that the Greek islands have tons of Germans so me saying this is not a surprise but... There are a ton of Germans here. Haha. I was basically surrounded by them on the ferry and German is the main language I heard while walking around today. I got off the ferry and walked around trying to find my place for the night, Pension Alexis. I asked a few people and eventually found it. The view from my balcony is pretty good. You can see the sea and the castle. I have three beds in my room but I am the only one in there. I would have stayed in a hostel but there are none on the island :-( Oh well. I talked to the proprietor, Sonya about what to do. I ended up walking around the town for a little bit checking out all the ruins. There were some foundations left by houses and some cool columns. I also saw a Roman theatre.

I walked up to Asklepion which are some ruins about 3 miles outside of town. I decided to walk. It was really hot and uphill. I was sweating pretty good when I arrived. The ruins are of baths and "doctor's offices" from the Greeks. Kos is known for Hippocrates (the so called father of Western medicine). These ruins were some of his things. The view back over to Turkey from the top of the ruins was great. I walked back down into town. I wondered through town checking out some of the other sites and then went back to the pension and read out on the balcony. I went inside and napped a little bit on accident. I found a place to eat dinner. Gyros, French Fries, and salad. So good. After that I wandered around looking for an interney cafe eventually stumbling upon one on accident. Now I am about to go back and sleep. Beach tomorrow?

Sorry about the short entry. My time is running out quickly...

Toodles!
